Abstract


In the present work scientific concepts and definitions about life and cell death are revised.General properties of biological life and live organisms as well as cellular death are described.Although it is known how life and death occur in cells, a convincing definition is stilllacking on what are biological life and death. Finally, the recent reported experiments onsynthetic genomics raise the importance to updating concepts and definitions of life anddeath in biology.
