Abstract
This project is important and innovative because of the use of two tools: BIM and CFD, which aim to improve the ventilation of the Zamarripa classroom, Belén Campus, of the University of Guanajuato. The classroom was analyzed using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool Fluent 18.2. It was observed that the Zamarripa classroom can optimize its ventilation. The classroom based on experience, it has very poor ventilation. This is more noticeable during the summer months. First, the .sat (ACIS) format of this classroom was obtained, then the domain was discretized into a three-dimensional mesh, and simulations were performed under laminar and turbulent flow regimes, obtaining the velocity and temperature profiles. A simulation was also conducted considering an air conditioner. It was concluded that such a system is needed to improve air circulation and optimize classroom ventilation.
