Identificación de especies de Meloidogyne asociadas al cultivo de chile (Capsicum annuum L.) en el centro-norte de Sinaloa, México

Resumen

Los nematodos agalladores son una de las plagas fitoparásitas más dañinas en la agricultura mundial. En Sinaloa, los nematodos del género Meloidogyne ocasionan pérdidas de hasta 25 % en diversos sistemas hortícolas. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar morfológica y molecularmente las especies del género Meloidogyne asociadas a los cultivos de Capsicum annuum var. mini bell y jalapeño, en los municipios de Sinaloa de Leyva y Guasave, respectivamente. Para lo anterior, se colectaron raíces de plantas de cada variedad de chile con sintomatología asociada a nematodos agalladores. De acuerdo con las características morfológicas y análisis filogenético de una región del ADN mitocondrial entre los genes COII y 16S, las especies se asociaron a M. enterolobii en mini bell pepper y M. incognita en jalapeño. Estos resultados aportan a la implementación de estrategias de manejo fitosanitarias de nematodos agalladores, para optimizar el control y la producción de chile.
