Abstract
Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) are key for the Mexican economy; nevertheless, they face challenges in human talent management (HTM). This study validates a theoretical model that explains the relationship between HTM and business success in MSE in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. Through surveys conducted with 911 businesses, an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was carried out identifying three components: HTM, Performance, and Personal Satisfaction. Results showed that HTM is more closely associated with subjective well-being and entrepreneur’s motivation than business performance. The validated model constitutes a relevant theoretical-applied tool to strengthen the strategic management of human talent in Mexican MSE, providing empirical evidence.
