Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the influence of light quality emitted by LED combinations on the radial growth and biomass of Phytophthora capsici mycelium cultivated in vitro. Four treatments were used, consisting of combinations of white (B), red (R), and blue (A) LED located in growth chambers, with the following percentages: 100B-0R-0A, 70B-30R-0A, 80B-0R-20A, and 60B-27R-13A. These treatments were established using a completely randomized design with 10 replicates. The light spectrum emitted by LED lamps influenced the in vitro growth of P. capsici. Treatment 80B-0R-20A, characterized by a higher emission in the blue light range (400 nm-500 nm), reduced radial growth by 13.3%, 17.7%, and 6.16%, respectively, compared to the fungus that grew under the effect of 70B-30R-0A, with a higher emission of red light, as well as the biomass of P. capsici, suggesting an inhibitory effect associated with the predominance of this spectrum.
