Identification of G8 +5 group strengths and weaknesses when addressing the climate change crisis

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop a methodology to identify if a given economy has or not a degree of awareness for the imminent climate change crisis and its consequences for different countries. This method aims to classify the countries under analysis, both qualitatively and quantitatively, according to their levels of strengths and weaknesses. For this work were reviewed countries leading international efforts to mitigate the effects of global warming on course were reviewed, better known as the Group of Eight + Five (G8+5), which are the more advanced and emerging economies. It is relevant identifying which countries are better or worse prepared to confront the climate change that we witness ev­ery day, because represents a useful tool to take into account when making international business decisions.
