This study focuses on flourishing and anxiety in gay and bisexual men, highlighting differences and similarities in their experiences. Bisexuals were found to have higher rates of depression and anxiety, influenced by biphobia and discrimination. The research, conducted with 480 Peruvian men, revealed an inverse relationship between anxiety and flourishing, with bisexuals showing higher levels of anxiety and lower levels of flourishing. These results suggest that high psychological well-being acts as a protective factor against anxiety, underlining the importance of a supportive environment. Identifying these differences allows for the development of effective strategies to support gay and bisexual men, thereby promoting holistic well-being and helping to inform policies that address their specific needs.
2025-02-12T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitariahttps://www.actauniversitaria.ugto.mx/index.php/acta/article/view/4449The Degradation of paracetamol with a Rotating Disc Photoreactor using TiO2 catalysts doped with metallic nanoparticles2025-01-14T08:26:27-06:00Carlos Montalvo Romerocmontalvo@pampano.unacar.mxClaudia A. The objective of this paper is to classify the municipalities of Hidalgo, Mexico, based on three variables than can determine greenhouse production, using two machine learning techniques: K-means and K-medoids. The classifications were conducted with respect to altitude above sea level, the proportion of total cultivated area with irrigation, and temperature. The results indicate that the variables considered provide useful segmentations for analyzing the suitability of the municipalities for the stablishment of new productive units. Additionally, significant relationships were found between the variables considered and the area cultivated under greenhouses in 2023.

Keywords: Protected agriculture, machine learning, Hidalgo, greenhouses.
This study evaluated the sawing process of the forest genera Pinus spp. and Abies sp., estimating the carbon stored in products and byproducts. A total of 101 logs per genus, with diameters ranging from 16 cm to 85 cm, were analyzed using a utilization coefficient to determine the percentage of round wood, sawn wood, and byproducts generated. Volumes of 32.27 m³ for Abies and 34.71 m³ for Pinus were sawn, yielding 20.80 m³ and 22.77 m³ of sawn wood, respectively. The byproducts for Abies, amounted to 11.47 m³, equivalent to 4.35 t of biomass and 2.19 t of carbon; for Pinus, byproducts were estimated at 11.94 m³, equivalent to 5.16 t of biomass and 3.59 t of carbon. These results indicate that the Pinus genus stores a greater amount of carbon in byproducts, implying a higher potential for carbon release upon decomposition.
It was found that there is a need to implement programs to transform attitudes and practices related to marine turtle eggs consumption through participation and collective learning, since “lack of information” is reported as one of the main causes of its consumption. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the main socioeconomic characteristics of beekeepers, as well as the degree of association between these and hive ownership. Information was obtained through a stratified statistical sampling survey, producers were grouped into four strata: more than 50 hives, from 51 to 100, from 101 to 150 and more than 150 hives. It was discovered that beekeeping is a secondary activity, most of the producers are elderly and have extensive experience in the activity, they have basic schooling and their production capacity is based on an average ownership of 71 hives, distributed in four . apiaries. The main variable that influenced the number of hives was the status of organized producer, from which they obtain advantages in the purchase of inputs and sale of products.
Well logs from the SM-1 and SM-2 groundwater wells were analyzed using spontaneous potential, natural gamma ray, resistivity, and temperature logs. The petrophysical analysis allowed the identification of porous, permeable, and less consolidated beds named here as “Arenas I, II, III, III´, IV, V”, as well as two intercalation intervals where sands alternate with more compact layers, marked as “Intercalación I and II”. The X-ray diffraction analysis in SM-2 well reports sanidine; the occurrence of this potassium feldspar interferes with using the natural gamma ray log as a shale indicator. The well log correlation between SM-1 and SM-2 is congruent. It is recommended to add more logs in future wells in order to improve the interpretation, and quantify formation parameters such as porosity and hydraulic conductivity.
2025-07-30T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitariahttps://www.actauniversitaria.ugto.mx/index.php/acta/article/view/4187CellCorticalDisplastic: Educational simulator for the recovery of NMDA receptor desensitization2024-11-13T15:42:43-06:00Marleni Reyes Monrealmarleni.reyes@correo.buap.mxMaría Eugenia Pérez Bonillamaria.perez@correo.buap.mxJessica Quintero Pérezjessica.quintero@correo.buap.mxArturo Reyes Lazaldearturoreyeslazalde@gmail.comMaría Beatriz Bernábe-Lorancabeatriz.bernabe@gmail.com
The NMDA (N-methyl-D-aspartate) receptor constitutes a significant component of excitatory synapses. The presence of intractable epilepsy in some patients with cortical dysplasia (CD) underscores the relevance of histological, electrophysiological, and molecular investigations to understand the mechanisms involved. In this context, a simulator based on the work by André et al., aimed at educational objectives, has been conceived. It features a curriculum that introduces students to the topic and allows for virtual practical exercises. The simulator faithfully reproduces the recovery of desensitization in NO-CD cells, apparently normal CD cells, and cytomegalic CD cells, as evidenced in experimental records. The implemented mathematical model allowed for theoretical estimation of internal calcium concentration in the reported experiments.
2025-06-04T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitariahttps://www.actauniversitaria.ugto.mx/index.php/acta/article/view/4168The Quality of Forensic Psychological Reports in Child Sexual Abuse Cases2024-10-25T12:34:56-06:00LUZ ADRIANA ARELLANOluzadrianaarellano@gmail.comMaría Elena Rivera Herediamaelenarivera@gmail.comMaría Cristina Pérez Agüeromcperezaguero@gmail.comTonatiuh García Campostonatiuh@ugto.mx
The intervention of psychologists in legal proceedings and their importance in judicial decisions in cases of child sexual abuse is particularly relevant. However, problems have been identified both in the quality of the reports and in the methodology used to prepare them. The main objective of this research was to analyze the extent to which forensic psychological reports meet the quality criteria proposed by specialized guidelines. Using a previously validated instrument, 60 forensic psychological reports on sexual abuse cases in Mexico were analyzed. It was found that the reports were lacking in comprehensive quality. The need for specialization, the implementation of videorecording in interviews with children and the generation of good practice guidelines for the Mexican context were proposed.
2025-03-19T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitariahttps://www.actauniversitaria.ugto.mx/index.php/acta/article/view/4163Winter ecology of Baird's sparrow in northern Durango, Mexico2024-08-30T11:41:19-06:00MARTIN EMILIO PEREDA SOLISmepereda@ujed.mxDaniel Sierra Francodan_1015@hotmail.comManuel Armando Salazar Borundaborunda@ujed.mxJose Hugo Martinez Guerrerohugo.martinez@ujed.mx
Baird's Sparrow is a migratory bird that has experienced a significant reduction in its populations. This study aimed to determine the size of the winter home range (WHR), population density, as well as seed biomass and soil cover and structure at three sites used by Baird's Sparrow and the relationship between these variables. The average WHR size was 0.042 hectares, with a seed biomass in the soil of 5.65 g/m² and a population density of 2.23 individuals/hectare. Significant correlations (Spearman, p≤0.05) were found between WHR and seed biomass, although these correlations varied between sites (DOWE rs=-0.90; LALA rs=-0.79; LAPO rs=-0.16). This study contributes to our understanding of the ecology of Centronyx bairdii. However, it is acknowledged that there may be other variables not considered in the study that could influence WHR.
2025-02-26T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitariahttps://www.actauniversitaria.ugto.mx/index.php/acta/article/view/4137Effect of online social support on subjective well-being2025-01-14T12:19:28-06:00GABRIELA RODRIGUEZ HERNANDEZgrodriguezh@uaemex.mxOlga Margarita Rodríguez Cruzorodriguez@uacm.mxCarlos Saúl Juárez Lugocjuarezl@uaemex.mx
Online social support occurs through interaction in sociodigital networks. The aim of this study was to design and evaluate an explanatory model of the effect of e-support on subjective well-being in Mexican population. A non-experimental, cross-sectional study was carried out using data from a national survey on subjective well-being, which is used to learn about people's well-being and social progress under the guidelines issued by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Based on a correlation and multiple regression analysis, a path analysis was carried out to evaluate the proposed theoretical model, which adjusted satisfactorily, although it explained a low proportion of the variance of subjective well-being.
2025-07-02T00:00:00-06:00Copyright (c) 2025 Acta Universitaria
