Resumen

Esta investigación analiza los significados de identidad étnica y aculturación psicológica del grupo originario “Pápagos” de Sonora, México. Con investigación cualitativa marco interpretativo del interaccionismo simbólico, mediante estudio de casos y entrevista en profundidad. Los resultados señalan que la lengua materna se revela como refugio cultural para mantener la identidad frente a homogeneización cultural y que las relaciones sociales internas y externas al grupo étnico son fundamentales para adaptarse a influencias culturales nuevas, sin perder la esencia propia. Las limitaciones del estudio fueron dependencia del traductor en entrevistas que pudo afectar la precisión de respuestas. En conclusión, es necesario entender el papel de la lengua y las relaciones sociales en la identidad étnica para diseñar estrategias efectivas que fortalezcan la resiliencia cultural y cohesión social en comunidades indígenas. Esta investigación ofrece base para futuras líneas y políticas que apoyen preservación cultural e integración de comunidades indígenas en contextos multiculturales.
