Abstract
Setting curve is a tool very used for energetic optimization of pumping water supply systems. In this research we analyze other applications such as skeletonization, sectorization, determining network capacity and demand increase process, result of urban population growth in horizontal and/or vertical. We also study its characteristics caused by leaks, changes in minimum pressure and changes in roughness of network pipes. Based on these properties and potential applications, setting curve becomes a very useful tool for planning, design, management and maintenance of water supply networks.
