Abstract
The decrease in prices received by corn producers in Guerrero in the months of maximum supply, derived from the seasonality that characterizes grain production, could be avoided with storage. To determine whether the capacity of warehouses in Guerrero allows to satisfy the storage demand, it was obtained the solution of a model of quadratic programming of the maize market in 2018. Results indicate that, in the six regions of Guerrero, warehouse capacity is less than the storage demand in the greater part of the year. Atoyac and Chilpancingo have excesses of maximum storage demand in March and April; and Iguala, Las Vigas, and Tlapa presented excesses of demand in more than eight months. Grain storage is important for the efficient economic marketing of the product in time and space; therefore, it is recommended to invest in warehouses in all regions.
