Anti-plagiarism policy

To avoid plagiarism, Acta Universitaria reserves the right to revise every submitted manuscript with the anti-plagiarism software CopyLeaks. If bad editorial practices are detected, the manuscript will be discarded and will not be sent to the Area Editors.

It will be considered plagiarism when others’ ideas, words, or intellectual works are used without the authorization or proper citation of the original sources, pretending that they are your own.

When plagiarism is detected, the Editorial Cometee of Acta Universitaria will act as follows:

  1. Before publication: The manuscript will be automatically rejected. The author/s will be notified in a confidential manner and will be given the opportunity to provide clarification.
  2. After publication: If plagiarism is detected once the article has been published, Acta Universitaria will proceed to officially withdraw it, eliminating the article from the journal, and will publish an information note explaining the reasons for withdrawal.

In both cases, the Editorial Board is empowered to determine if the responsible author and co-authors are denied to submitting articles through the journal in the future.
