Abstract
AI Planning and Scheduling processes have traditionally been related to each other in astiff manner. The first one selects required actions for obtaining the established goals andthe second one studies the execution requirements (time and resources) of these actions. However, real-world problems require capabilities of both processes. The State-of-the-Artreveals two ways for tackling these problems: i) extended planning approach and ii) extended scheduling approach. Because they presented great disadvantages, it was necessary to provide a model that interleaves both processes in a flexible (alternating each process capabilities) and general (applied to any domain and to any problem) way. This paper presents a proposal for an integrated model, where the key points: its structure and how both processes interact, are emphasized.
