Abstract
This document shows an optimized model for trapezoidal combined footings resting on the ground that support a concentrated load and moments around of the X and Y axes in each column to obtain the minimum surface area in plan. The model presented in this document considers a pressure diagram that has a linear variation. The model normally used to obtain the area of the contact surface on the ground takes into account the proposed dimensions of the trapezoidal combined footing, and later the stresses are verified at the corners by the biaxial bending equation (t hese stresses must be greater than or equal to zero and lower than or equal to the available admissible load capacity of the ground). The results show that the proposed model can be used for obtaining the optimal area of trapezoidal and rectangular combined footings with one restricted side and two property lines of restricted opposite sides, as well as for triangular combined footings.
