Abstract

The Real Colegio de Mineria or Real Seminario de Mineria or Colegio Metalico was founded in 1792 and in january the 1st of that year admitted the first students. Several of their graduates during the firs decade of the XIX century worked in the mining industry in Guanajuato and were involved in the insurrection movement, among them were: José Antonio Rojas, Casimiro Chowell, Rafael Dávalos, y Ramón Fabié y Mariano Jiménez.
