Special issues policy

Acta Universitaria reserves the space to publish two special issues annually. To be published, the proposal must follow this procedure:

  1. The special issue must categorically fulfill with the guidelines and good editorial practices stated in Acta Universitaria (see document):
  2. They must be academic-scientific articles; they can be collaborations in congresses or scientific meetings.
  3. They must undergo a double-blind peer review, without exception.
  4. Authors must send the corresponding Grant of publishing rights letter signed by all collaborators.

The process will be as follows:

  1. One of the authors of the articles will be responsible for submitting the proposal for publishing a special issue, which will be turned to the Editorial Committee for consideration (relevance, originality, and novelty of the thematic content of the manuscripts comprised in the special issue will be evaluated, along with the affinity to the profile of the journal).

The person submitting the proposal for a special issue will be responsible for suggesting the Area Editors who, in turn, will be responsible for assigning the reviewers of the articles.

  1. Special issues are not limited to a minimum or maximum number of articles. However, the publication of a special issue will proceed provided that 85% of the articles are approved (either accepted or accepted with observations) in the double-blind review process.
