Policy of Artificial Intelligence use
Acta Universitaria acknowledges the importance of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into the field of research and the dissemination of science. In this context, the journal adheres to the principles declared on the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (Unesco, 2021). Hence, in accordance with these principles, and with the aim of promoting its ethical and transparent use, the following guidelines are set:
- No artificial intelligence system or tool will appear responsible for authorship, nor will they be tagged as coauthoring.
- Authors must state in the “Acknowledgements” section of the article, and upon submission in the “Comments to the editor” option on the platform, whether they have used AI tools (such as Large Language Models, Chatbots, or Image creators) as an aid for the writing of the manuscript, for grammar and spelling checking, for image creation, or for citing and referencing.
- Authors must declare if they have used AI tools when doing the analytic work and include a description of that in the sections “Abstract” and “Materials and methods”.
- Authors must guarantee that the data, text, images, and tables obtained through AI do not violate third-party copyrights.
Authors will be the only responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and originality of the content presented in the article.
