So, the equity, efficiency, and sustainability for accessing to these services are a previous requirement for the sustainable development and the achievement of each objective. The study developed on the provision of drinking water, sanitation, and electricity aims to identify and describe the variables that affect efficient provision and propose a line of research about it. To this end, it has been described the situation of the management and provision of these services by a systematization of technical and actual information; also, the relevant factors in the political and institutional, economic, and social dimensions have been characterized beyond the traditional technical focus, affecting the efficient provision of these services. The results show that there are series of variables in the political-institutional, economic, and social grounds that affect the quality of these services.
