Abstract

The objective of this review was to present the importance and advances in protein nutrition of grazing beef cattle. First, an analysis on the nutrimental composition of forages is presented, followed by the use and degradation of protein, microbial protein synthesis and escape protein; also analyzed are protein requirements of the ruminant, and protein supplementation. Finally, digestive kinetic and ruminal fermentation are discussed.
