Abstract

Protocols were developed for in vitro propagation of these seven cacti species distributed in northeast municipalities of the State of Guanajuato: Mammillaria geminispina, M. magnimamm, M. marcosii, M. mercadensi, M. petterssonii, Coryphanta radians and Ferocactus latispinus. Presence of kinetin one cytokinin, was essential for propagation of six  species. The higher responses were obtained at mayor concentrations of the two grow regulators used; ácido indoIacético (IAA, for its acronym in spanish) = 4 mg/l and kinetin 10 mg/l, with average of 6.0, 6.0 and 9.2 sprouts per explant. Distinctively, Ferocactus latispinus produced 4.8 sprouts per explant, at the doses of IAA = 4 mg/l, in absence of kinetin, these results show variability in response to grow regulators, of different species of cacti family.
