Abstract
In this paper is presented an analysis of the solar radiation transmittance on a curved roof greenhouse for tomato production in Irapuato, Gto., Mexico. It was considered a model that involves the latitude of the location, shape and orientation of the structure as well as the radiometric properties of the roof commercial material. The model was compared with measurements of global solar radiation and photosynthetic active radiation (PAR), both outside and inside of the greenhouse, using a Vernier® data acquisition system attached to a PC and a Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station monitoring every minute and 15 minutes. The results showed variations of 35 % on PAR compared with the model and 41,4 % compared with commercial specifications of the material, while for global radiation, the variation was 12,5 % compared with the model and 20 % compared with commercial specifications of the material. The analysis allows us to know the effect of the factors such as dust, water and deformations on the material of the roof.
